About Menoracarpet

In my teenage years, during summer vacations, I would go early in the morning to my father’s shop in Tehran’s Bazaar. Sitting on carpets and having breakfast while enjoying the scent of rugs gradually turned into a pleasant habit for me.
After breakfast, it was time for cycling. First, I would pedal around the stacks of carpets and sometimes fall onto the rugs. I would get up again and start pedaling with even more enthusiasm. For a teenage boy like me, cycling in my father’s shop was an extremely enjoyable experience. These activities gradually created a strong desire in me to visit the shop more often, increasing my interest in carpets and pursuing this path with greater passion.
During that time, I learned different carpet knots from my father and realized how the quality of materials used and the use of natural colors could significantly increase the lifespan and value of the rug.
Gradually, I spent more time in my father’s shop, and eventually, I made my first carpet sale: selling two carpet panels to a well-known merchant from the United States. This experience was incredibly enjoyable for me.
After finishing my studies and graduating from university, I took over my father’s business. My father was among the first carpet exporters in Tehran to obtain a trade license. Following the traditional practices of that era, he managed carpet buying, selling, and exporting. Therefore, I decided to expand the export process and modernize it. As part of this effort, in 2002, I launched the website “menoracarpet,” establishing trade with various merchants around the world.
Following the global outbreak of COVID-19, with the consultation and collaboration of several prominent Iranian producers and exporters, I expanded the menoracarpet website. Furthermore, to better serve our valued customers, I significantly increased the diversity of products and rugs in our export portfolio.
My father always says that the quality of the carpet is extremely important and that old traders care about this much more. Certainly, just as hearing the name “Mercedes-Benz” brings to mind Germany, hearing about handwoven carpets evokes thoughts of Iran. Therefore, the rugs I send to friends and colleagues worldwide are of the highest quality and reasonable price. My goal is to ensure that our dear customers not only enjoy their purchase but also make a good profit, creating a pleasant and memorable experience that stays with them forever.

Message From The Founder

During my youth, I became acquainted with the exquisite art of Iranian handwoven carpets and was captivated by their mesmerizing patterns and designs. In 1965, I traveled to the beautiful city of Mahan in Kerman, renowned as one of the prestigious centers of handwoven carpet production. During this journey, witnessing the meticulous and artistic efforts of the weavers led me to realize that handwoven carpets are not merely commercial products but rather a symbol of our culture and way of life as Iranians.

In 1970, I moved to Tehran and began my professional journey in the Grand Bazaar of Tehran. In those early years, I had the honor of collaborating with the Yaghubi brothers. This invaluable experience provided me with a deeper understanding of all aspects of carpets, from production and weaving to export, and significantly enriched my knowledge and expertise in this field. During this period, the export of Iranian handwoven carpets to prominent merchants in European and American countries expanded, and important commercial relationships were established. My objective in these endeavors was to introduce the unparalleled art of Iranian carpets to the world, foster constructive interactions with handwoven carpet traders across the globe, and contribute, even in a small way, to this invaluable heritag.
